A curse tablet dating back around 1,700 years has been discovered in a Roman mansion in Jerusalem. In it a woman named Kyrilla invokes six gods in an attempt to lay a curse on a man named Iennys.

CT Scans reveal clues to prehistoric Mesopotamian code
Using CT Scans researchers have discovered clues as to how a form of communication, used for record keeping two centuries before the invention of writing, worked in Mesopotamia.
